Life in the Town of Putnam Valley

The Town of Putnam Valley combines the community of small town America with 21st century technology and vision. Although our population is only slightly more than 10,000 we are fortunate to have two cable television channels (20 and 18) devoted to government and community events enabling all of our citizens to stay abreast of government and civic issues. There is a broad range of community and recreational activities for every age and every level of interest. A new Town Park provides residents with state-of-the-art athletic fields and leagues. A modern Senior Center offering a full set of programs is also located adjacent to the Park. Volunteers partner with Town committees. There is a first class Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Corps. A Farmer’s Market operates at the Adams Corners Grange each week. We celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Historical Society in 2008. And, perhaps most importantly, our educational institutions, including a new High School, ensure that the next generation of children will benefit from this emphasis on community as they pursue academic excellence.
