Emergency Services
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT – founded in l946 and with a membership today of over 100 fire fighters the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department is at the core of our emergency service community. Whether dealing with a traffic accident on the Taconic Parkway, a house on fire, a pulsating alarm or smoke coming from underbrush our Fire Department responds in all conditions and at all times, 24/7. The Department is also a good citizen through its leadership and sense of community participating in the annual Veterans Day remembrances, in ensuring that the Town Day fireworks are safely managed and in showing the pride of our Town through parade marches in neighboring jurisdictions. It also brings knowledge of fire prevention to our schools each year.
